Orange Cake

Fresh Orange Cake

I took this recipe from The Great British Bake Off book page 64 but made some modifications for my tastes. I used the basic orange cake recipe listed but then made a chocolate frosting. The original recipe called for a cream cheese frosting. I also used a different design and a different type of orange slice for the top. If I made it again, I would try my hand at making candied ginger, which I have not tried yet. I was very impressed with the orange flavor of the cake. The fresh orange zest made this superb!
